Welcome to Kellie Roman Photography!!

Are you looking for a photographer who loves color and everything whimsical and bright in the Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee, Waukesha area??

If you are looking for a colorful, fun session for your child, or a beach sunset session (with cotton candy skies… of course) for your family or high school senior, then you’ve come to the right photographer!

Location sessions are chosen by you depending on what “vibe” you are looking for. While studio sessions are done in my home studio, which is equipped with lots of colorful backdrops for children, neutral backdrops for families, props, caffeine for parents, and snacks for bribing your kids. 🙂

All sessions and details including location, outfit choices, and any customization are carefully planned out between client and photographer. This is to ensure everything comes together perfect for you session! Have concerns about what outfit you should wear? No problem! click the link to my pinterest page for inspiration. Once you find an outfit for your session, snap a photo of it and send it my way! Ill be sure to help if you any wardrobe doubts.

What an incredible group of ladies I photographed yesterday at the Distinguished Young Women of Oak Creek event! It’s not easy getting on stage in-front of so many people to not only to do some public speaking, but showcase their fitness abilities and amazing talents! I was so impressed! Ever hear of image stacking? Edit this snowflake along with me…

I decided a few weeks ago to pick up my macro lens, that I haven’t used in a while to try out some snowflake shots. ❄️

Not super easy. A lot of patience is required. 😂

I needed some special equipment to photograph these incredibly tiny and delicate snowflakes.

But it was so worth it. 💯

Since macro photography has a very shallow depth of field, it can be hard to get the entire snowflake on the same focal plane without moving it or having it lay completely flat on my surface. Resulting in some post process image stacking! Taking multiple shots with different parts of the snowflake in focus, then essentially stacking the images on top of each other so the entire snowflake is in focus. 🤗

Although this is a very simple tutorial using only 2 images, and the bottom of snowflake isn’t in focus. It gives you a great appreciation for macro photography, and the unseen beauty of winter in Wisconsin! ❄️❄️❄️

A fun little experiment this morning in the -37 degree weather here in Wisconsin. This happened within about 30 seconds! Yes I have some videos too, but putting together a ton of still images I took was way more fun. ❄️
