Don’t forget to also find information on my details page located HERE.
General Session Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Kellie Roman Photography located?
My studio is located at 2790 S. Fulton St. Milwaukee. I have an adorable studio space located in the heart of the Milwaukee’s Bay View area. 15 minutes from Southern Milwaukee Suburbs, 30 minutes from Waukesha, and 20 minutes from Ozaukee County. My studio is located on a one way residential street but is very easy to get to, and just a minute away from Outpost. Although indoor sessions are done in my Milwaukee studio, location sessions can be done throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Traveling to parks, beaches, and downtown areas is such a fun part of my job.
How far in advance should I book?
It’s never too early to book your session! During the summer and fall months I book very quickly with outdoor senior and family sessions. Newborn sessions are best booked several months in advance to ensure availability! Limited number of newborn sessions are booked each month due to scheduling purposes! See more information on newborn session below! Click HERE to book your session.
What is the best way to contact you?
The very best way is right HERE on my contact form via my website! With my own small kids it can be difficult to answer the phone, and sometimes clients and I end up playing phone tag. Email and usually the most efficient form to discuss your session.
I’m not quite sure where I would like my location session. Can you make suggestions?
Absolutely! I have a large knowledge of various locations throughout southern Milwaukee County, and Northern Racine County. Gorgeous sunlight is a huge factor for an amazing outdoor session. Providing several options for your upcoming outdoor session, is just another perk of booking your session with me. Many examples can be found HERE in my portfolio.
What should I wear to my upcoming session?
So much of your outfit choices depend on the location of your session. If you are a new parent taking a few photos with your newborn, I suggest staying simple with your colors. You want most of the focus to be on the newborn. If you have a family session booked at the beach, stick with light and airy colors. Patterns, along with different textures can be done beautifully! For additional ideas on what to wear I’ve put together a few Pinterest boards for extra help and suggestions! Click HERE to view!
Can I do BOTH studio and outdoor during my session, or multiple locations outdoors?
Yes! Many sessions including THIS senior session were taken both in my studio, and a local park in Milwaukee County. THIS senior session was also done at three different locations within Kenosha County. Due to extra time associated with longer sessions an additional fees apply.
What happens if it’s raining the day of my location session?
As most Milwaukee photographer’s do, I simply reschedule your session! Wisconsin weather can be extremely unpredictable. Rescheduling your session to another day is definitely an option.
Can I see ALL images taken during my session?
I do not show my client ALL images taken during their session. Overall, I take anywhere between 200-500 frames during any given session. Showing all images would not only be extremely overwhelming for my client, but also very time extensive for them to look over all of the shots. I look over all images taken, and choose the best shots from the session to edit and present to my client.
How many images are in a client gallery?
Anywhere from 30-50 edited images are presented to clients within their online proofing gallery.
How long does it take to see my photos?
Depending on the time of the year, it usually takes around 2-3 weeks to have your online gallery ready.
Where can I see your latest work?

Newborn Session Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book?
Newborn sessions are done Monday- Friday mornings. Book as early as you can right HERE! A very limited number of newborn sessions is booked each month due to scheduling! As we know babies coming on their own time. When clients book early, their due date is written down in my calendar. Several dates and time slots are saved around the time of a due date. After the babies birth, I require clients to contact me within 1 day. This way a more detail date and time for the session will be set up.
Do I need to bring my own props to my newborn session?
Newborn sessions include access to all of my gorgeous props and backdrops. My studio is equipped with many wraps, headbands, hats, rompers, pants etc for all newborn session clients. I am continuously growing my prop collection, including buckets, baskets, blankets, wraps, and my own unique home made props. For another unique and fun baby boy moon prop click HERE.
What if my newborn doesn’t sleep?
Rest assured, I provide a prep guide prior to your newborn session with lots of tips on getting baby sleepy! The prep guide prepares newborn parents for an easy, and successful newborn session. I have many posing and work flow techniques to get even the most wide awake, wiggly newborns sleepy.
How are newborn shots, such as the swing image accomplished?
Being fully insured, and HIGHLY trained in newborn posing is key to a professional newborn photo session. Many images that you see on social media, and photographer’s websites are composite images. A composite image is when 2 or more images are taken, then combined using photo editing software. Images such as the swing prop are done safely combining two images, and NEVER allow the newborn to be in any danger. I am a professional newborn photographer who has gone through extensive newborn safety training. The safety of your newborn is top priority during sessions.
How long does a newborn session last?
Newborn sessions can last anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours long. Babies can be so different from one another. Newborn sessions are a longer amount of time to allow feedings and diaper changes. Swapping out props and backdrops also takes time. Please allow for a minimum of two hours for your session. For more information check out my what to expect during your newborn session page!
Do you offer a newborn baby registry?
Absolutely! Expecting parents can contact me HERE to set up a registry for their upcoming baby shower. Registering with me is an amazing opportunity to receive high quality images of your little one when they are still tiny and squishy!
Prints and Products Frequently Asked Questions
What type of prints and products does Kellie offer?
Prints and products are such a substantial part of your overall session experience. Photography sessions are an investment due to the time and quality of the photographer. Printing images through consumer labs such as Shutterfly or Walgreens negates the investment you’ve made hiring a quality, professional photographer. Consumer labs don’t have equipment to print images at a high quality standards, as they are taken and edited in. I offer various sized high quality prints, stunning boutique albums, and unique wall art from professional lab I work with. A favorite product of mine are stunning metal wall prints. These prints have vibrant colors, and can be hung without a frame.
