Oak Creek Photographer

I noticed on social media the Oak Creek High School girls lacrosse team was looking for a photographer for a few action shots. Being an Oak Creek photographer and a lacrosse Mom myself, I thought it would be a fun volunteer opportunity. I reached out to the coach and long story short, I had a ton of fun photographing and watching these Lacrosse athletes play!

Every once in a while I do something a little outside my box of client portraits at my Milwaukee studio, and on location. For 7 years my son played hockey. I photographed so many of his games and absolutely LOVED it! Explaining to parent’s that I photographed his games because it was my creative outlet, outside of my creative career. Two years ago, my older daughter started playing lacrosse. I photographed many of her games as well, which was also a blast! When I saw the Oak Creek High School girls lacrosse team needed a photographer for some fun shots, I had no problem jumping right in! Being an Oak Creek photographer, and having experience taking photos of hockey and youth lacrosse was a benefit of course. I knew exactly what equipment I needed and my settings for those fast paced action shots.

One thing I definitely learned about Oak Creek High School girls lacrosse is that it is a tough sport! Some of these girls would unfortunately come off the field with busted lips. Or even being hit in the head with a stick. Lacrosse definitely isn’t for the weak, but it’s a fun game and great opportunity to get involved and meet some awesome athletes and coaches!
