Milwaukee Newborn Pics

I’ve had the honor of photographing this sweet family on several occasions. I was so excited when Alissa reached out and asked for newborn photography for their little guy they were expecting! Photographing all three of their sweet boys was very special, and I love how their Milwaukee newborn pics turned out!

The Drive From Illinois

I’m always flattered when client’s come back to me time and time again for their photo sessions, especially their newborn pictures. This awesome family even makes the drive from Illinois to have their photo sessions done by me! It makes me even more excited to be a part of their memories, and capture their growing family. Putting two boys, and a newborn in the car to make the drive from Illinois to my Milwaukee newborn photography studio isn’t an easy task. They were even early this day!

Perfect Newborn Session

A perfect newborn session start with a great family who is relaxed! If parents are stressed out the kids will definitely feel that too. I cut down on stress by preparing my client’s for their newborn portrait session! Ahead of their Milwaukee newborn pics, I email out a prep guide on tips and tricks as well as what to expect. I truly think all three boys did an amazing job because their sweet parents were relaxed for the session as well!

What an incredible group of ladies I photographed yesterday at the Distinguished Young Women of Oak Creek event! Ever hear of image stacking? Edit this snowflake along with me…

I decided a few weeks ago to pick up my macro lens, that I haven’t used in a while to try out some snowflake shots. ❄️

Not super easy. A lot of patience is required. 😂

I needed some special equipment to photograph these incredibly tiny and delicate snowflakes.

But it was so worth it. 💯

Since macro photography has a very shallow depth of field, it can be hard to get the entire snowflake on the same focal plane without moving it or having it lay completely flat on my surface. Resulting in some post process image stacking! Taking multiple shots with different parts of the snowflake in focus, then essentially stacking the images on top of each other so the entire snowflake is in focus. 🤗

Although this is a very simple tutorial using only 2 images, and the bottom of snowflake isn’t in focus. It gives you a great appreciation for macro photography, and the unseen beauty of winter in Wisconsin! ❄️❄️❄️
