I am beyond thrilled to announce Kellie Roman Photography LLC has been voted the WINNER of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel 2025 Official Community’s Choice Award in the Photography/Videography category!! Milwaukee’s Best

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Official Community’s Choice Awards started back in March of 2025. This was the first phase and nomination phase of voting for Milwaukee’s best businesses. The general public could vote once per day, in 150 different categories. The Milwaukee community, and anyone really could vote for their favorite businesses to hopefully get those businesses to the top 5 finalists. The public was able to type into each category who you wanted to nominate, and you could nominate Milwaukee businesses in as many different categories that you’d like! Next, the voting went to the finalist phase.

Top 5 Finalist

Several weeks later, I was so excited to find out I had been nominated for Milwaukee’s Top Choice in the Photography/Videography category! I moved onto the top 5 finalist photographers in Milwaukee County! Unfortunately, I didn’t realize I was nominated until about 5 days into the voting process. Finding out so late was definitely a bit disappointing. Posting on my social media pages, and texting as many people as I could to spread the word was crucial. This final voting phase only lasted about 15 days, so it was very important to vote each and every day.

Loyal Support

Let me just say, I have the most loyal support from my Milwaukee client’s and fans. Being voted by the as the winner of the 2025 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Official Community’s Choice Award was so exciting! I couldn’t have received this prestigious recognition without all of the help of my amazing clients, fans, family, and friends! So many awesome people took the time out of their busy day to think of me, and cast their vote. They also spread the word on social media, which was very much appreciated. I can’t thank you all enough for the help and support, this definitely isn’t an award I take lightly! I’m excited to continue to create beautiful portraits for the Milwaukee and surrounding communities!

With a bunch of new followers, I thought I’d re-introduce myself! I’m Kellie - yes… spelled with an IE NOT a Y. 😆 Often times, I introduce myself like this in person.. because it gets people to remember my name- and gets a laugh lol. I’ve spent my whole life spelling it to people, it doesn’t bother me though. I’d rather have a unique spelling than the norm. 😁

Yes, I’m tall. No, I did not play basketball as a kid. (If you’re a tall girl you’ll get me 😂)

My favorite season is SUMMER! The hotter and more humid the better! ☀️

I absolutely have a favorite type of session to photograph, but I won’t put it in writing because sometimes it changes. 😉

My work is bold with vibrant colors, strong outdoor lighting, and touch of whimsy all around! We live in a world of color, and color makes people HAPPY! 🤗

I got my start in photography in high school, then went to college for photography as well! I’ve been in business for 15 years, but have over 20 years of experience!! 📸

I recently won the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Community Choice Award in the photography category, which was pretty exciting! 💯

A big goal of mine when working with client’s is not only to provide stunning final images, but an awesome time! Your photo session should be fun and exciting, not stressful or a chore. 🫣 Of course I take my job seriously, but I’m a laid back - joke telling- go with the flow type of person. My clients leave their sessions feeling less like clients and more like friends. And that’s exactly how it should be. ❤️
