Bright Airy Newborn Session

Man, I am just loving my lighting situation in my new studio! It goes well with the style of my work, bright and happy. It really shows in these images during this bright airy newborn session!

When I talked with Judy on the phone prior to the session she had asked a few great questions. One of her questions was, what if he doesn’t sleep… do we reschedule? I get asked that question a lot during my newborn sessions. If I’ve ever had a baby who didn’t cooperate, and I didn’t get any good images. It’s funny to even think about that, because in all the years I’ve been photographing newborns I have never had a session where I had to reschedule due to an uncooperative baby. When hiring a true professional photographer to photograph your sweet babe, we are highly trained on techniques to get baby sleepy. Even if they don’t want to sleep, I always have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Little Finley was a dream to work with. And how awesome is his name! I totally love it! Finley did such an amazing job, that we ended up getting to do quite a few prop shots!

I really love the light shades of blues and teals we used during his session. The fun texture of my blue curly wool in the bucket shot really stands out, and is one of my favorites. The only shot Mom really wanted was my popular moon shot, so I’m SO glad Finley did an amazing and slept so great for us. It was great meeting his parents and getting to know them.
