What to wear, is a question I get asked a lot. Depending on your upcoming session type with Kellie Roman Photography, I have lots of great ideas to help you plan your wardrobe.
Do you have a specific color scheme you want to stay with? For outdoor sessions the time of the year here in Wisconsin has a lot to do with the colors we wear. Of course in the spring and summer months we tend to stay light and bright. These colors are personally my favorites. I love anything bright and bold, or airy and neutral. Both are great with options depending on the actual location you choose. White is always very fresh and clean feeling especially with those beach sessions! During the fall and winter months we tend to go darker. Plum, mustard, and navy is one of my favorite color schemes during the fall.
Location also makes a difference in what outfit choices and color schemes you will want to stay with. If your outdoor location is in a downtown location with brick buildings you could go bright or dark! Beach sessions tend to look best with lighter “airy” outfit colors, neutrals or brighter colors looks great on the beach! Even winter location sessions with snow can look amazing with bright reds and pops of bold colors!
Patterns and Textures
Mixing and matching different patterns, textures of fabrics, and styles can make your clothing choices interesting as well. Having a good mix of these will actually make for more eye pleasing images. Of course going overboard might be a little distracting, so finding the perfect combination is a must!
Adding accessories is a great way to spice up even a plain colored shirt or dress! Scarves, big chunky necklaces or funky glasses can really add a lot of spunk to your session.
