Rainbow Baby

Little Henry was such a sweet boy to photograph! He was so calm, and easy going which makes my job easy. His Momma, Alissa booked Henry’s newborn session months before he was due, which is always a great idea! She let me know he is a rainbow baby and wanted to incorporate rainbows into one of his shots.

A rainbow baby is a term used for a baby born after a miscarriage, stillbirth or loss of a child. This term holds a very special place in my heart, as I’ve experienced the loss of one of my daughters. Alissa wanted to honor her daughter who is now watching over their family and her sweet little brother. She brought in this amazing bear, which is the same weight her daughter was at birth. I absolutely love this idea, and for anyone who is wondering the company who does this is called Molly Bears. I really love his sweet rainbow baby images, and I know how much his parents will cherish these for years to come.

Alissa also let me know Herny’s room is cloud, and moon themed. I knew I HAD to pull out my beautiful moon prop from an amazing prop vender right here in Wisconsin. Mr. & Mrs. & Co. I LOVE how bright and airy his moon shot turned out. Backlighting is so gorgeous and simple, it really made him look like he was floating in clouds!

When hiring a professional photographer whether its for a family, maternity, newborn, senior, cake smash, or any other important event it’s a great idea to think about what you want to do with those beautiful images ahead of your session. 💭

Wanting/getting strictly digital images may seem like the most convenient route to go. But is it?

Often times those digitals sit on our computers or hard drives. We say we’re going to print them, but ultimately it gets put on the back burner. Often times it never gets done, as time gets away from us way too quickly.

I’ve heard from many clients years after their sessions that they never printed them and their computer crashed. Hopeful I still had their stunning memories.

As technology changes and time passes, it’s best to talk to your photographer about your plans to ensure your beautiful shots aren’t going to get lost years down the road. ❤️
