Modern Milwaukee Senior

Matthew, Greendale Senior class of 2020 wanted a modern Milwaukee senior session. I think we nailed it! From his location, to his outfit it all came together perfectly.

Matthew’s mom contacted me and said her son really loved my work. That he thought modern architecture was really cool, and would love to have his senior session done incorporating unique structures! Of course the most modern piece of architecture you can find in Milwaukee, is the Milwaukee Art Museum, so naturally we headed downtown for his unique session.

Milwaukee Art Museum

This Greendale senior was awesome to work with! He was so open to what spots we did his senior photos in, what angles were taken and we even found an extra few spots near the Milwaukee Art Museum that I didn’t know were there! I just LOVE to huge metal wall with a window cut out, and of course the shot of him in front of the “big orange metal structure” with the city behind him. Haha, is there a name for the orange metal thing downtown? Probably, I should look into this. LOL!

Not my normal post.. but you know something crazy?

In the midst of the explosion of excitement over the Milwaukee @brewers winning the World Series for the FIRST TIME EVER… I noticed something very real.

The special desire many people still have to hold onto memories in print. Since winning the title, I thought it would be fun to grab a newspaper for a keepsake to pass off to my kids when they’re older. Who knows if or when they’ll ever see the Brewers win the World Series again.

I wandered around to a few local places hoping to snag a copy, just for them to be sold out or nonexistent at all. What I came to realize through a few social media posts and people in stores - was that A LOT of people were simply trying to find a copy of the paper to keep for the memories.

I was lucky enough to make it to game 2 at @amfamfield, but tickets were only digital. There was the option to buy a printed ticket for a keepsake for a $50 fee.

I was lucky enough to make it to the parade yesterday, where my husband was handed this cover of the paper that I had been looking for. Then, was offered a 30 pack of cold Miller Lite for the paper, because some guy wanted it lol. 😆

Having printed keepsakes truly is becoming a thing of the past in this digital world. Holding memories in your hand is genuinely so much more gratifying than seeing them on a screen.

So when I tell clients how important it is to print their photos I truly mean it. Because passing down printed family photos to their children is a million times more important than a newspaper, or ticket stub. 💙⚾️💛
