Milwaukee Senior Photographers

What an absolute stunning Milwaukee senior photo session! Being one of many Milwaukee senior photographers, I’m in the minority of local photographers who isn’t afraid of sunlight. This gorgeous high school senior absolutely shined, especially with that golden hour lighting! She wore her trademark adorable glasses, and was ready to rock on this beautiful Milwaukee summer evening.

No Shady Milwaukee Photographer

Let me just say, I’m no shady Milwaukee Photographer! Of course, IF I start my outdoor session just a smidge on the early side I might have to put my client’s in a filtered light area. Sunlight however, is always my jam. I tend to find other local Milwaukee senior photographers stray away from using strong lighting techniques within their outdoor sessions. Well, this is because it’s hard! I will never be afraid of photographing my high school senior client’s in full sunlight around the Milwaukee area! It adds so much depth and uniqueness to my images and client sessions.

Recreate a Childhood Picture

This incredibly sweet senior client, had such a great personality! She was an absolute natural at posing, and her fun attitude shows throughout her session. She even had this awesome idea to recreate a childhood picture of hers using her favorite stuffed animals! I haven’t had a Milwaukee senior who’s wanted to create such sweet memories from her childhood! I loved this idea, and hope to see more awesome ideas from my Milwaukee high school seniors to come!

Ever hear of image stacking? Edit this snowflake along with me…

I decided a few weeks ago to pick up my macro lens, that I haven’t used in a while to try out some snowflake shots. ❄️

Not super easy. A lot of patience is required. 😂

I needed some special equipment to photograph these incredibly tiny and delicate snowflakes.

But it was so worth it. 💯

Since macro photography has a very shallow depth of field, it can be hard to get the entire snowflake on the same focal plane without moving it or having it lay completely flat on my surface. Resulting in some post process image stacking! Taking multiple shots with different parts of the snowflake in focus, then essentially stacking the images on top of each other so the entire snowflake is in focus. 🤗

Although this is a very simple tutorial using only 2 images, and the bottom of snowflake isn’t in focus. It gives you a great appreciation for macro photography, and the unseen beauty of winter in Wisconsin! ❄️❄️❄️
