Enchanting Senior Photos

The only way to describe this stunning Martin Luther High School senior session was enchanting. Beautiful Berlyn was incredible to work with, and truly her session was nothing short of a fairy tail! She was hoping for an easy going, carefree style. Boy, did we capture her enchanting senior photos in the best way possible!

Milwaukee Park

Berlyn wanted her senior session in this well known Milwaukee Park area. While it can be a very dark location, it sure can be beautiful when knowing how to work with the dark lighting conditions. Hiring an experienced Milwaukee senior photographer makes all the difference in lighting conditions like these. I found all of the gorgeous pockets of golden evening light, and her carefree poses and candid twirling shots were so fitting for her enchanting senior photos. She was truly a pixie during this session, having no problem walking around barefoot and embracing the gorgeous scenery of Southeastern Wisconsin. Although we were completely bit up by mosquitoes, it was well worth it!

A Short Walk

A short walk down a different path in this Milwaukee park ended our session in the most gorgeous sunlit spot. I’m in love with Berlyn’s natural poses. Her Mom even mentioned at the image reveal appointment how powerful her beautiful daughter looked in some of the last shots. I couldn’t agree more! High school senior portraits shouldn’t be boring. These should be a memorable time to show off your child’s personality. Whether they are comfortable posing themselves, or need some guidance. I’m here to help each and every one of my amazing high school seniors to look and feel their best!

Ever hear of image stacking? Edit this snowflake along with me…

I decided a few weeks ago to pick up my macro lens, that I haven’t used in a while to try out some snowflake shots. ❄️

Not super easy. A lot of patience is required. 😂

I needed some special equipment to photograph these incredibly tiny and delicate snowflakes.

But it was so worth it. 💯

Since macro photography has a very shallow depth of field, it can be hard to get the entire snowflake on the same focal plane without moving it or having it lay completely flat on my surface. Resulting in some post process image stacking! Taking multiple shots with different parts of the snowflake in focus, then essentially stacking the images on top of each other so the entire snowflake is in focus. 🤗

Although this is a very simple tutorial using only 2 images, and the bottom of snowflake isn’t in focus. It gives you a great appreciation for macro photography, and the unseen beauty of winter in Wisconsin! ❄️❄️❄️

A fun little experiment this morning in the -37 degree weather here in Wisconsin. This happened within about 30 seconds! Yes I have some videos too, but putting together a ton of still images I took was way more fun. ❄️
